A New AC Installation Can Lower Utility Costs
Replacing an aging or poorly maintained air conditioner can reduce your Greensboro, NC energy costs every month. The amount you’ll save depends on the energy efficiency of the AC installation you select.
High-efficiency Systems
SEER stands for Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio. Other things being equal, the SEER rating of an air conditioner tells you how efficiently that unit will perform. SEER ratings start at 14 and approach 30. The higher the SEER rating, the greater the energy savings you’ll enjoy over time.
Zoned Systems
With HVAC zoning, you can cool only the rooms you use. Zoning can reduce your energy bills by up to 40 percent compared to a standard system. A zoned system can be included in an AC installation as part of our HVAC services. It can also be installed in the ductwork of your existing air conditioner. Your utility bills will also be reduced by the SEER rating of the system you select. The lower the SEER of your existing unit and the higher the SEER of your new unit, the lower your utility bills will be.
Ductless Mini-split Systems
Ductless mini-splits are zoned systems that don’t require ducts. One outdoor unit can power up to eight indoor units. Each indoor unit is stationed in a different room. You control the temperature in each room with a remote thermostat. With a mini-split system, the elimination of ductwork leaks can reduce energy losses by up to 30 percent. You can choose a mini-split AC with a high SEER to reduce utility bills even more.
